It is time to address the state of the country and where that leaves artists. It is difficult not to feel depressed about art when the country is torn about what we believe in. Civil War? No I don't think so.
We must bridge a gap and tear down a wall that exists between our modes of thought.
You might think I would paint images of suffering or isolation. The only way I can exist as an artist is to see and believe in the beauty of Nature surrounding me. One way or another Nature will prevail.
Our handling of the Covid pandemic has brought us to our knees and given us a lesson that we weren't prepared for. Now politics is playing us for dummies a second time. Behaving like stupid juvenile delinquents with actual weapons is not only disruptive, it prolongs the pain of change.
We must see ourselves as humans, part of a huge Whole on Earth. When he was 11, my son said he wished everyone was like him...happily, he outgrew that idea. I celebrate the differences of people. Different colors, different religions, different talents and different means to live with.
Kindness and lending a hand should be second nature. I truly believe that no one on Earth knows what happens to us when we die. People can only speculate and try to make believers out of others. I am not afraid not to know. I can live life well by following the golden rule and accepting that other people will have different beliefs than my own.
Painting is becoming more of a luxury in this world. Everything is more expensive. I see it as my way to express my inner thoughts and as a healing art. Love trumps all.

I like painting on different surfaces with other paint mediums, it keeps me learning and trying new things.
